Dr. Maureen F. Finney is Dean of the School of Health Professions at D’Youville . She serves as the chief academic officer of the school and leads all of the academic programs within it. The School of Health Professions is comprised of eight departments and 13 degree offerings, five externally accredited. Dr. Finney is active in the college’s Deans Council and Academic Council and President’s Council. Dr. Finney is chairing the steering committee on the college’s Health Professions Hub, an initiative to enhance graduate workforce readiness, knowledge and practice of inter-professional education and clinical opportunities in a medically underserved area.

Avoidable medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States; patient safety should be at the forefront of any institution that graduates health care providers. D’Youville has responded to this crisis and accreditation standards through robust interprofessional education curricula, delivered to over 800 students a year from eight different health professional programs.
