Conversation Cafés

Conversation Cafés are a unique action-oriented session format that tackle pressing issues in IPE and move the discourse to action. The Nexus Summit 2019 Conversation Cafes are focused on two key issues in health care workforce development.

  • Many health professionals in interprofessional clinical learning environments are trained in Community and Technical College (CTC) health workforce programs. How do we work together to ensure these health professionals are collaboration-ready? A panel of CTC administrators and other workforce champions will lead a Conversation Café on “Developing and Sustaining IPE Programs and Partnerships with Community College Health Workforce Programs.” Join this Conversation Café to generate the key issues and set the action agenda for the future.

  • How does interprofessional identity develop alongside individual professional identity as health professions students are considering their career path, working through their programs, or entering the professional workforce? At what point does a student or professional begin to see themselves as not only a nurse or social worker, but as an integral member of the interprofessional health team? Researchers and practitioners will lead a Conversation Café on “Exploring Interprofessional Identity Development”, seeking to generate the key issues and questions that need to be answered as we prepare health professions students and professionals for IPE in the clinical learning environment.

Join us for one of these fascinating Conversation Cafes on Tuesday, August 20 and contribute to the future of IPE!
