Dr. Saewert is ranked as Clinical Professor and holds administrative appointment as Senior Director for Interprofessional Education and Practice at the ASU Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI). She joins colleagues in local (Arizona Nexus), national (National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education) and international (Centre for Interprofessional Education – University of Toronto) efforts to demonstrate how the collaboration of practice and health professions education can lead to improved healthcare quality and outcomes in emerging team-based practice models. Dr. Saewert is the founding Evaluation Lead and an inaugural member of the ASU Center for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (CAIPER). She led the Interprofessional Leadership Development Partnerships component of a highly successful 2016-2018 Interprofessional by Design: Meeting at the Crossroads to Accelerate Leadership Competency and Readiness for Transition to Interprofessional Practice grant (NCIPE | Robert Wood Johnson Foundation). Her work focuses on modeling and advancing best practices in assessment and evaluation; teaching/learning excellence; program evaluation; quality assessment; design and delivery of curricular innovations; and, interprofessional health professions education and practice emphasizing teamwork, quality and safety, and patient-centered care. She champions leadership and quality-focused initiatives to advance nursing and health professions education. Dr. Saewert is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a fellow of the National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education.
