James Cypert is the Director of Interprofessional Education and Simulation at D’Youville. James is a Master Trainer in TeamSTEPPS, and has 25 years in information technology and education. Combined degrees in Information Technology, Counseling Psychology, and two and half decades of experience in technology, training and education give James a highly unique perspective on people and the technologies they attempt to use. Encouraging the use of technology in creative ways, while guiding others towards technological self-efficacy; James is a technology expert with advanced technological skills, an educator, and simulation specialist.

Avoidable medical errors are the third leading cause of death in the United States; patient safety should be at the forefront of any institution that graduates health care providers. D’Youville has responded to this crisis and accreditation standards through robust interprofessional education curricula, delivered to over 800 students a year from eight different health professional programs.
