Tracy Routsong is a Professor in Communication Studies and Director of the Bachelor of Integrated Studies. Dr. Routsong attended the University of Northern Iowa earning her M.A. in Organizational Communication and her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in Interpersonal Communication with emphases in health and family. She was the 2018 recipient of the Ned Fleming Excellence in Teaching award and a 2017 Diversity Pillar. She also served as the Director of the Institutional Review Board, a HICEPS and Teaching Fellow. She has presented at the local, regional, and national level.

Interprofessional education is foundational to creating a health care team prepared to improve patient outcomes, however, patients and families are often absent from the educational setting.
