Patricia E. Inks, RDH, MS, is director of dentistry in the community and integrated community service partnerships for A.T. Still University-Missouri School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-MOSDOH). She received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from West Virginia University and master’s degree in professional leadership, training and development from Carlow University. Inks is a member of ADHA, ADEA, and AAPHD. She is very interested in public health dentistry and providing care to those who struggle with access to that care. Inks has been a dental educator for almost twenty years.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
We are excited to share our ongoing pilot implementation of incorporating student pharmacists in a dental clinic. An unlikely interprofessional pairing has created a rich exposure to two health professions that would not likely pair up in real practice. The goal of this activity for the students was created to increase knowledge of medication history-taking skills and expand knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of each other's training and profession.
