Maria Velasquez is the Senior Program Manager of National Partnerships for the National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs and the Camden Coalition. Maria supports and maintains strategic partnerships and upholds field presence and networking on behalf of the National Center. Previously, she was a National Consultant for the Annie E Casey Foundation Child Welfare Strategy Group working with multiple jurisdictions supporting, coaching and advocating for system reform. In her work at AECF Maria partnered with state leaders and shared culturally sensitive best practices around recruitment, development and support of foster and adoptive families.

The movement to pay attention to the social determinants of health (SDOH) is strong in health care, and the SDOH are now considered core to health and health care.
