As Practicum Coordinator and Lecturer in the Social Work Department of Washburn University, Ms. Keeffe is responsible for placing Social Work students in their practicums as well as teaching didactic content. Her social work career has been focused on working with children in community mental health centers, foster care, public schools and in private practice. Ms. Keeffe's passion is working with those most at-risk with significant trauma histories. After adopting two girls from the Child Welfare System, she is dedicated to advocating and working
with other professionals to make much needed improvements to the Kansas Child Welfare System.

Interprofessional education is foundational to creating a health care team prepared to improve patient outcomes, however, patients and families are often absent from the educational setting.
