Kelsey is a second-year medical student interested in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Physiology. In medical school, her interests have been primarily in helping lead a progressive campus through the Unity in Medicine planning committee, the Bridges to Access speaker’s committee, and as an executive member of Lumina. After helping with the first annual Unity in Medicine interdisciplinary conference in 2017, Kelsey decided she wanted to be more involved in the ongoing progress of the event through research, and hopes to continue to do so until graduation in 2021.

Our campus community, similar to others, is challenged with providing ample voice to the rich diversity represented among our faculty, staff, and students. Unity in Medicine is a student-led program that showcases the diversity represented among students at our comprehensive academic health center. This event enhances diversity and interdisciplinary education by showcasing students with different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.
