Karly has been a nurse since 2007. Her nursing background includes experience in quality improvement, general medicine, pulmonary, cardiovascular surgery/telemetry at Michigan Medicine. Has been a Clinical Instructor for University of Michigan School of Nursing Undergrad program. She is currently working as a QA/Nurse Coordinator (Program Evaluation Specialist) for I-MPACT (Integrated Michigan Patient-centered Alliance for Care Transitions), a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Collaborative Quality Improvement.

Re-admissions continue to plague our healthcare systems, and confusing discharge processes can be a factor in unintentional errors and increased ED/hospital utilization. To address these issues, I-MPACT, a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan collaborative quality initiative, assembles hospitals and physician organizations to work as local “clusters” with patient participants to develop viable interventions.
