Dr. Joseph Ferullo is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at MCPHS University, School of Pharmacy-Boston. He is the Director of the Pharmacy Practice Laboratories where he oversees the physical assessment and the institutional and community practice laboratories for pharmacy students in the first and third professional years.

Background: The opioid crisis requires coordinated effort from health professions educators to provide students from all disciplines with the tools and skills to recognize potential opioid abuse and to effectively mitigate risks associated with controlled substances.
