Jo Ann M. Bamdas, Ph.D., Director for the Office of Interprofessional Education at Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Bamdas is also affiliate faculty with FAU's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. Florida Atlantic University's IPE program involves FAU's Colleges of Medicine and Nursing, School of Social Work, and School of Pharmacy students and faculty from our neighbor Palm Beach Atlantic University. Dr. Bamdas’ research interests include interprofessional education and collaborative practice, healthy aging, qualitative research, online learning, and women’s graduate education.
Presenting at the Nexus Summit:
As healthcare moves towards team-based care, accrediting bodies of health professional schools have facilitated interprofessional education and collaboration. Although there has been progress in curricular development, schools still face challenges, especially those without academic health centers. In this program, we explore how schools from different universities can build strategic partnerships for interprofessional education and practice.
