Jane Steffensen is Associate Professor and Director External Relations in the Department of Public Health and Community Service, TUSDM. She is Co-Director for the HSRA supported Predoctoral Grant, Tufts Interprofessional Workforce Program for Community Service Learning, Public Health and Pipeline. Also, she contributed to the Collaborative Approach to Oral Health Care for Children with Special Health Care Needs - Dentistry and Pediatrics Interprofessional Project funded by the DentaQuest Foundation. Jane has co-authored dental and dental hygiene textbook chapters, reports, and presentations as well as participated on advisory and review panels for federal, state, and local public health organizations and agencies.

Project overview: An interprofessional team of educators (dental, medicine, public health, and psychology) embarked on a multi-year “proof of concept” project to apply the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) framework and develop an IPE intervention to promoting collaborative care for children with special health care needs (SHCN).
