Connie Swenty is an associate professor at the University of Southern Indiana. She served as director of a $1.2 HRSA grant focusing on interprofessional clinical experiences and placed student teams in Community Health Centers and VA clinics. She managed faculty roles, collaborated with staff members, and facilitated student team involvement in the clinics. In addition, she teaches graduate and undergraduate nursing courses. Connie received her Master of Science in Nursing from Clarkson College, Omaha, NE and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, IN. Her interest areas include nursing education, interprofessional education, and wound/ostomy care.

Background, including statement of problem, and aims: Respiratory therapists must be proficient in therapeutic and diagnostic skills. Students must also be competent communicating and participating in a team-based approach to patient care.
