Carol Savrin, RN, DNP, is an Associate Professor and the director of the MSN program at CWRU’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. Dr. Savrin was the PI for the HRSA-funded project, Collaborative Home for Oral Health, Medical Review and Health Promotion (CHOMP), an interprofessional collaboration among the health science professions of nursing and dentistry in educational and clinical settings that benefit the Cleveland region’s vulnerable, underserved patient population. She is a Co-Investigator on the ILEAP project

Teaching collaborative care team skills to students is an on-going challenge. At Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) a program has been developed which places early learner student teams in clinical and community settings, known as Interprofessional Learning Experience and Practice (ILEAP). The student teams, like professional health care teams, do not remember to stop to huddle or regularly give each other feedback.
