Dr. Benedicte Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor at Marshall B. Ketchum University: Southern California College of Optometry. She serves as clinical faculty at Ketchum Health and is representing Optometry in the Interprofessional Education curriculum. Dr. Gonzalez is a University of Southern California alumni, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and a Master of Public Health. Thereafter she attended Illinois College of Optometry and completed a residency in Ocular Disease at the VA Healthcare System in Las Vegas, NV. Dr. Gonzalez has a passion for serving medically underserved communities.

Background: The future of healthcare education includes the integration of interprofessional instruction and experiences to ensure all graduates are prepared to work in the collaborative, patient-centered environments of today’s healthcare system.
