Dr. Bassima Schbley holds the MSW Degree from Newman University located in Wichita, Kansas and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Utah (2004). Dr. Schbley is a tenured Associate Professor in the Social Work Department, MSW Program Director (2015-2018) and Department Chair of the Social Work Department (2017-2018). Dr. Schbley has been a full-time faculty member at Washburn University since August 2003.
During the last 15 years at Washburn University, Dr. Schbley has taught courses across the BSW and MSW Curriculum.

Interprofessional education is foundational to creating a health care team prepared to improve patient outcomes, however, patients and families are often absent from the educational setting.
