Dr. Barnes is the University of Pittsburgh Associate Vice Chancellor for Continuing Education and UPMC Vice President for Health Professional Education. The CPD programs at both institutions serve over 200,000 participants per year representing multiple professional disciplines. She has served in leadership capacities for the Association of American Medical Colleges, Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Society for Academic CME, and the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions. She serves on the Advisory Committee for the Journal of Continuing Education in the Health Professions and has served as a book editor and author of numerous articles.
