Andrea Brown, MOT, OTR/L, SI is employed at Arkansas State University as an Assistant Professor and Program Director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program. She received a Master’s of Occupational Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas in 2007. Her clinical expertise includes 11 years of practice in pediatrics with specialized emphasis in the assessment and intervention of Autism and Sensory Modulation/Integration Dysfunction. Brown transitioned to academia in 2016 as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the OTA program at Arkansas State University. In 2019, Brown transitioned to Program Director where she oversees didactic and clinical education experiences for OTA students.

Colleagues at a university in the delta created a faculty-led fieldwork model that promotes interprofessional practice and education while providing a service to the community. Service and Experiential Learning Through Engagement in the Community (SELTEC) is a clinical model which allows students to engage in strategic partnerships within the community to provide free services to recipients of care while gaining experiential learning opportunities in both clinical and professional skills and abilities.
