National Center Open Session - Advancing IPE Science through Knowledge Generation: Launching the National Center Core IPE Data Set
Monday, August 19, 2019, 12:45 pm - 2:15 pm
Nicollet Grand Ballroom
The National Center has gained substantial experience and leadership throughout the U.S. in defining and establishing the national IPE research agenda. The National Center Knowledge Generation Team, responsible for knowledge discovery, built on this substantial experience to define the core data needed to answer questions about the complexity and relationship of IPE to the Quadruple Aim and outcomes. The Knowledge Generation Team has built the infrastructure to facilitate knowledge discovery by designing a program proposal process to support IPE program design and implementation.
A state-of-the-art national infrastructure, called the National Center IPE Information Exchange, leverages many existing networks, systems and security protocols. The IPE Information Exchange will empower collaborative collection and use of sharable, comparable data (IPE Core Data Set). The National Center IPE Information Exchange expands local IPE Program development while empowering our collective understanding of what works and doesn’t work in interprofessional practice and education. Those that collaborate and contribute data have immediate 24/7 access to dashboards and reports in the IPE Information Exchange.
Join us as we share the Program Proposal process and IPE Information Exchange capabilities. We will describe how the six categories of the IPE Core Data Set can be used to support your local IPE program development linked to education, collaborative practice and patient outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
After participating in this workshop, attendees will be able to:
-
Describe the rationale and attributes of comparable, scalable core essential data within the context of the state of the science in IPE.
-
Articulate how the IPE Core Data Set is linked to the education, collaborative practice and patient outcomes.
-
Outline strategic and operational adoption strategies of the Program Proposal Process and IPE Core Data Set using the IPE Information Exchange that could enhance their IPE program development
-
Utilize the Critical Events of IPE tool, designed to facilitate teams recognizing barriers and opportunities for IPE implementation, appreciating and documenting “fork in the road” events, documenting decisions that are made and their impact on the IPE program.
